Tasting Note

A fruity, easy drinking version of Tempranillo with the spice of oak barrels in the finish and the slight grit of Tempranillo too. But the nose and mouth are all about the strawberry and raspberry candies and fruits.

Wine Description

The Tempranillo Crianza has a deep ruby color with a fading rim. Clay, marinated peppers, caramelized eggplant and spice aromas follow through on a soft, silky entry to a dryish medium body with notes of sour cherry, watermelon rind and mossy earth. The wine finishes with a crisp honeyed dried citrus and a hint of dusty tannins. It's a mellow, mature red to pair with roasted pork, chili or veal chops.

About the Winery

Tarantas is a label of Med Wines, produced by Bodegas Iranzo. With vintners from the Iranzo Perez–Duque family, Bodegas Iranzo is the site where the first estate-bottled wines in Spain were produced. The first recorded written evidence of the vineyard Cañada Honda Estate, owned by the Iranzo Pérez–Duque family, dates back to 1335 as granted by King Pedro I of Castilla. Bodegas Iranzo is the only vineyard in Europe located in a National Reserve Park.
