Iberian Wine Importers
Cariñena’s full-throttle style of Garnacha can surprise people. Everything is ramped up--ripeness, tannins, herbal notes (mint and even spearmint), and alcohols--so this is definitely a Garnacha for people who want intensity in their wines. The tannins mask some of the fruits at present but should lighten up soon. Drink in the next few years.
The clear and brilliant wine has a cherry-red color. Its intense aromas express floral notes well-harmonized with the wood. On the palate, it is fleshy, full to taste and pleasant to swallow. The wine is well-structured with fine tannins, which give it personality and which are reminiscent of the variety, and a persistent aftertaste.
About the Winery
Grupo BSV, one of the most important wineries in Cariñena, is comprised of Bodegas San Valero and Gran Ducay Bodegas. Bodegas San Valero was established as a cooperative in 1944 based on utilizing traditional and innovative methods and achieving maximum expression of the terroirs and the grape varieties from our more than 700 grape growers, who own 8,645 acres of vineyard. The Sierra, with its stony soils and the Cierzo wind, is a special area to grow vines. We control all the production from the vineyard to the glass and select the best grapes for our best wines.
