Tasting Note
With a bright and fizzy mousse with an otherwise gentle demeanor throughout, this is very citrusy, clean, and dry. There are some yellow and red apple notes in the middle and finish, but citrus rules the day. Drink now or in the next few years.
Wine Description
The prime feature of Brut Reserva Segura Viudas is its elegant and persistent mousse. The aromas are of white fruits, citrus and tropical fruits, and light floral notes. The palate is exquisite, complex, and full of flavor, with good acidity and notes of lime and pineapple. It is dry and long on the finish.
About the Winery
Segura Viudas, with its distinctive fortress tower, dates back to the eleventh century, and the winery exhibits diverse architectural styles—Visigoth, Romanesque, and Gothic—because the property underwent a number of expansions in its early years. In the thirteenth century, the tower at Segura Viudas lost its military importance and was converted into a masía, which is the name given to country houses in Cataluña.
