Tasting Note

With ripeness being easy to accomplish in Toro (particularly in 2009), it’s balance that is the hallmark of a great Toro producer. The Prima 2009 showcases its richness like a ballerina. Hints of toastiness linger, but it’s the vibrant fruit that carries the day. Drink now or in the next several years.

Wine Description

Prima is sourced from the younger vines. Aged for 12 months, it is structured but easy-drinking with polished taninns and sublte oak. Prima is a modern Toro, fruity and civilized for all palates.

About the Winery

Maurodos S.A. was created as an indepentent winery, included in the same group as Bodegas Mauro in 1997. The Garcia family undertook the project with the aim to produce civilized Toro wines with structure, elegance, and balanced tannin, always respecting the local variety of Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo).
