Tasting Note

While Toro wines are known for their power, this is an intriguingly gentler version: there is plenty of Toro ripeness and intensity. But there’s also an elegant note; it’s as if two wines reside in the same bottle: Toro’s almost Port-like jam alongside a bright and fruity note of cranberries and currants, with some mint and raisins at the end. Drink soon and over the next few years.

Wine Description

The ruby-red wine is clean and brilliant with a complex, elegant bouquet featuring the aromas characteristic of aging in good wood, along with resinous nuances and a fruity base. On the palate, the wine is well-rounded, full-flavored, complex and lively with great character and featuring a long-lasting taste and perfectly blended tannins. The wine´s aging results in complex, subtle sensations at the back of the nose.

About the Winery

Bodegas Frutos Villar started the wine business in the 1900, and the first wine cellar was founded in Toro in 1920, now the oldest existing one in this DO. Along with five other wineries,we founded the Toro DO, and we are one of the leaders in the region today, receiving widespread recognition for quality and value in the wine press. In 1957, the group founded a second winery in Cigales, where we produce red and rose wines. In 1988, the group opened a winery in Ribera de Duero; Today, Frutos Villar is present in most of the DOs in Castilla y León.
