Red and black fruits vie for attention alongside new French and American oak notes of black pepper and vanilla. This is still very firm, showing a bit of grit and tannin, but the wine is beginning to find its center and a pretty balance should be struck in the next year or so. Drink in the next few years and for five or more years.
From vines more than 50 years old in Rioja, Eguren Ugarte carefully hand selects the best Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo grapes for the elaboration of Martín Cendoya. After 12 months aging in oak barrels and 22 months in bottles, the wine awakens to appealing sensations of freshness and sweetness, with a touch of berries and licorice.
