Tasting Note

As unique as Sherry is to Spain, Palo Cortado is even odder: something between an Amontillado and a Dry Oloroso. The best have a few lingering notes of the flor that helped define their early careers in the bodega. This nutty, almond flavored, caramel tinged Sherry fulfills the role nicely. Drink over the next five or so years.

Wine Description

Leonor presents an amber color with golden tones and an ochre-orange rim. It is a profound wine, one which is intense with nutty aromas of toasted almonds and hazelnuts and mature wood on the nose. On the palate, the wine is powerful and persistent with toasted notes and a long, powerful aftertaste - altogether, well balanced with a smooth pass on the mouth. Leonor is perfect with game and red meats.
