Tasting Note
Verdejo in Rueda is consistently good, regardless of the producer; but consistency of style for Verdejo remains unachieved. Some Verdejos are crisp and grassy like Sauvignon Blanc, while others are richer and textured like an unoaked Chardonnay. Like some other delightful Verdejo, Legaris’s version is yet something else: more citrus, mineral, melon, yellow apple, and with very little grassiness. Drink now or in the next few years.
Wine Description
Legaris also makes a Verdejo in DO Rueda. Legaris Verdejo is a modern white wine with the maximum aromatic and varietal expression from the Spanish varietal Verdejo and blended with a a slight touch of Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is a combination of fruity explosion and the floral elegance. Legaris uses old gobelet-trained vines that yield all of their varietal character, a concentration of aromas and flavors and consistency on the palate. Only 19% of DO Rueda vinestock is planted in gobelets.
