Tasting Note

A dark and extracted version of Mencía, this Bierzo has lots of dark and dried fruits, as well as chocolate notes. The spice and the herbs are very powerful, and the oak notes are still youthful and vibrant. Cellar for a year and then drink in the next several years.

Wine Description

Flavium Premium is made of Mencia grapes. The wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation before it is aged for 18 months in American oak barrels and in bottles.

About the Winery

Vinos de Arganza became a family business when Víctor Robla, a professional with a long wine history, and his wife, Ángeles Varela, bought the winery. Ángeles Varela returned to her roots; her grandmother Sara Álvarez de Toledo, born in Villafranca del Bierzo, was the owner of big vineyards and wineries belonging to her family since the fifteenth century. The business will be handed down to the next generation; Victor's sons are joining the company to work in the winery's viticulture, enology, and marketing areas.
