Ribera del Duero is capable of remarkable elegance; Moro’s wines exude that supple character along with dense dark fruits, spice and black pepper. This is capable of years of aging, even if its smoky power makes it seductive even now.
This wine is a point of reference to the spirit of Ribera del Duero. It bears the name of its creator and is the flagship of the winery, above Finca Resalso, the young wine of the winery with a great price/value relationship. Previously, Emilio Moro used the categories of vintage and reserve, but as of the 1998 harvest, these concepts disappeared. Now this brand only relates to wine made from vines of between 15 and 25 years old. The 2009 growing season was remarkable; the heavy winter rains allowed the vines to withstand one of the driest summers in recent years, and stable weather conditions allowed for a staggered harvest, obtaining the optimum state of maturity from each plot (from 29th September to 16th October).
About the Winery
At Bodegas Emilio Moro, we are an united team, a family that has shared the same dream for three generations. Work, sacrifice and humility are the basis of the dream that guides the Moro family. Over the years, Emilio has selected those vines that stood out in quality and grafted them in the new vineyards, thus achieving a grape that possessed a superior expression and personality that he wanted to impart to his wines; today, this practic is known as "clonal selection." Our winery is the place where the values of the Moro family take shape, a space where traditional methods and the latest technology go hand in hand to obtain the best possible results.
