Tasting Note
Spain needs to continue making Moscatel in this vein: dry, layered, and definitely fun with or without food. The wine expresses aromas of orange flower water, lemons, oranges, and mangos in the nose, while the mouth has these same flavors, as well as distinct dried pineapple chunks. The finish is almost completely dry; it’s a bit of a happy roller-coaster ride. Drink soon.
Wine Description
Botani, the only dry wine of the winery, is made with a careful selection of the best Moscatel de Alejandria grapes grown in the vineyards on the north-facing slopes of the mountains of Axarquia. Due to the steepness of the slopes, all the work in the vineyard, including the harvest, is done by hand. The grapes are harvested into small baskets to prevent bruising and are carried by mules to the winery.
About the Winery
Bodegas Jorge Ordonez is located in the area of Malaga called Axarquia in the mountains of Malaga. The winery owns 29.6 acres of vineyards, divided among various parcels in the district of Axarquia and situated on partially decomposed red slate intermingled with white quartz.
